Join our friend, 2013 AHA Homebrewer of the Year Annie Johnson, on The Brewing Network webcast Monday night from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. She will be on The Session, talking about her Light American Lager – Mow the Damn Lawn – which won her the national title last year. She’ll also be discussing the soon-to-be-unveiled PicoBrew Zymatic, and of course, all things beer. You can call in and participate, too! Call 888-401-BEER during the show – Throw out some BFD props if you get on
Annie was our guest this past Saturday at the BFD Brew Demo Day, and we were given an opportunity to try several of her beers, including her title-winning Lager…probably the lightest, cleanest beer we’ve ever tasted.

If you have never brewed, or are a brewer looking to transition from the stove to a burner, or all the way to an all-grain system, Saturday is your day! Join us and about a dozen brewers from 10 am to 5 pm and see just about every way you can brew a beer. On location will be:
Oak Park Brewing Co – 25 gallon all-grain pilot system – brewing a Cream Ale
New Glory Brewing Co – Brewing on BFD Mike’s 15.5 gallon all-grain keggle system – brewing a Belgian Spring ale with caramelized orange and tangerine zest
Rubicon Brewers – all-grain
And about 10 more brewers from the UnderGroundBrewSquad, PUBS, and others!
Our honored guest, 2013 AHA Homebrewer of the Year Annie Johnson! She’s planning on brewing a California Common Ale. Bring down your homebrews and recipes, she will give you expert feedback, help you develop or troubleshoot a recipe, and just be a general black-belt.
See you here!

Brewing is just too much fun to do by ourselves, so we’re getting together with New Glory Brewing Company at Alley Katz on Thursday and brewing a batch!
Come down and watch New Glory Brewmaster Julien Lux and BFD Mike craft their own collaboration Belgian IPA on an all-grain system. We’ll have some fun beer trivia questions and giveaway swag. Alley Katz has a great tap selection, too!
Alley Katz is located at 2019 O Street in Midtown. We’ll be there from 4 to 10 pm.

The NEW BFD shirts are here and in stock…We guarantee this will become the coolest shirt in your wardrobe and make you the hit of every party you attend. How can we make such a claim? Because our shirts have built-in bottle openers! Designed by local producer DrinkWear Clothing, they’ve inserted a clever, patented bottle opener in the shirttail. We chose a heavy-duty 6.1 ounce 100% cotton shirt and top-notch screening, so this shirt will last you for years.
Come get one soon, these won’t last in stock for very long!
