Register your entries online by 11:59 pm, May 10th, 2015.
You can even drop your bottles off here at BFD – we’re an official drop-off point. Entries must be submitted by Friday, May 15th, 2015 at 5:00 pm
The California State Fair Homebrew Competition is one of the best-run competitions in the region, and is staffed by excellent, well-ranked BJCP judges. This is an excellent competition to enter if you want comprehensive feedback on your craft creations.

We are hosting award-winning author and masterful cheesemaker Gianaclis Caldwell of Pholia Farm for two days of learning and hands-on cheesemaking April 17 and 18 here at Brew Ferment Distill in our classroom. Supported by the California Artisan Cheese Guild’s Cheesemaker Education Committee, Gianaclis is teaching to a wide variety of home and craft commercial cheesemakers who have traveled from all over California and Oregon for this exclusive course.
Are you interested in cheesemaking? We carry cultures, molds, books, and other resources for all levels of cheesemaking. We can also network you with local instructors who regularly work with us to instruct you.

Registration for the 2015 California State Fair Homebrew Competition has just opened. Register between April 3rd and May 3rd, and plan to drop your entries between May 8th and May 13th. BFD is a drop point!
Judging will be held at the end of May.
Last year, there were over 800 entries, and they expect even more this year. This is one of the largest homebrew competitions in the western US…be sure you compete!

The American Homebrewers Association National Homebrew Competition is upon us again. This is the second year BFD will proudly host the Sacramento First Round judging for the largest international beer competition in the world. Over 9,000 beers will be judged nationwide among twelve sites. The top three beers in each category scoring over 30 points will move on to the NHC Final Round in San Diego this June, where entries will compete for Homebrewer of the Year, among other awards.
Exclusive! The Foundation restaurant, at 400 L Street, will be hosting a four course farm-to-fork dinner with beer and cider pairings from local breweries. There will be a select few extra tickets, which will be made available to the public for $60 per person! Enjoy an exclusive meal prepared by Foundation’s Executive Chef Jeramy Smith, visit with nationally-ranked BJCP judges, and enjoy the company of truly committed beer enthusiasts.
